Entry from: Florence, Italy Entry Title: “Whats Tuscany without some wine” Entry: “May 31st. Chianti, less than an hour from Florence is a piece of Italy that can’t be missed. You can take a step away from the bustle of Florence and enter Tuscany as it is envisioned in your mind. Grapevines and Olive groves lining the road, hills with medieval castles perched on them and one thing this area is know for wine. We took time away from the Renaissance city and went on a wine tasting tour in the heart of Tuscany. We took a bus to a Castle in a small Hamlet just north of Greve in Chianti. The bus winded up narrow streets through the rainy wine country until it came to rest in front of a stone archway surrounded by endless fields of grapes and silvery olive trees. The Winery we visited ships it’s Chianti throughout the wolrd, but in the United States just to a distributor in New York City. In 2006 it’s Chianti was named to the 20 best wines in the world list for that particular year. Along with Chianti, the vineyard produces Olive Oil, and another form of wine known as Supertruscan. We were told that the Chianti comes from the San Girmigano grape(that is a typo) and it is grown throughout the property.
